Hi there!! It's Lawnscaping time again :) The topic of the 124th challenge is 'Celebrate!' and because I haven't used the 'Bake me a Cake' stamp set very often I chose this one for the challenge.
I started out by stamping the cakes onto a watercolor paper and used a piece of scratch paper in order to mask off the layers and position them at an angle. I also stamped the little birdie from the 'Year Four' stamp set on top of the cake and the plate from the set.
Then I masked off the whole image with Winsor&Newton masking fluid. (This was my first time using masking fluid and I really like it! Works great!!) With a brush I wetted the area around the cake and here and there I made brush strokes so that it looked like it 'bursted'. Then I added color using the Gansai Tambi watercolors (No. 33, 34 and 42). The color followed the water areas and lines; so, there wasn't much work left for me :)
After letting that try I removed the masking fluid with my fingers and I colored in the plate and bird with the Gansai Tambi No. 46, 47 and 139. For the cake layers I used Lawn Fawn dye inks and decorated them with colorful 'icing' :) Doesn't it look delicious? Mhhm...
I also scattered sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and used double-sided adhesive and fun foam to adhere the watercolor paper to a yellow card base.
This time the sentiment is on the inside of the card. I used the 'Year Three' stamp set and archival jet black ink.
Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day,
xo
