Lawnfawnatics Challenge No. 50 | Fun with Food

Hello everyone! I am back with a card for the Lawnfawnatics challenge #50 "Fun with Food".

I came up with this interactive card idea very quickly but the sweet blueberries from the genious Mona (IG: mona.toth) gave the rest to the design and were the perfect addition.

I started with the background and diecut a piece of white cardstock with the 'Peekaboo backdrop' die from Lawn Fawn. I put it onto another white cardstock and used a Tim Holtz brick stencil to create the background. I chose tumbled glass and hickory smoke distress oxide inks for my ink blending. I added the colors 1x with the inlay pieces inside and 1x without them - so that the scen could continue. In the upper left I wanted to create the illusion of a kitchen cabinet so I just masked off a rectangle and added pumic stone distress oxide ink around it.

After that I diecut three of 4 interactive flaps. A sketch of the finished card is very useful for this design so that you can choose which images you want to color. All the images which are on top of the flaps and behind you need twice.

So I stamped the images with Lawn Fawn jet black dye ink and colored them with Copic markers. I added some details with a white gel pen. I used images from 'So smooth', 'Let's toast', 'Sweet friends' and 'Be Hap-Pea'.

Then I used the flap dies again on the images which will be on the front. When the flaps are closed it looks like a continous scene and when they are opened everything looks the same except for many sweet blueberries which have the time of their live :)

Last but not least I added two enamel dots as cabinet handles and added the sentiment from 'Sewn with love' and Be Hap-Pea.

Lawnfawnatics Challenge No. 48 | Movie inspiration

Hello everyone! After preparing and having 2 workshops I was back at my crafting table. I am so in love with the current Lawnfawnatics Challenge "inspired by a book, movie or song" - it could be the whole year 'round :)

 I have wanted to create a card with characters from "The Princess and the Frog" for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity.

It was clear to me that I wanted to use the 'magic picture changer' die set on this card and so I prepared two little scenes for the "change" effect. The first one shows Tiana and Naveen as frogs and if you pull the tab the magic happens and Tiana and Naveen are humans again. I used many different stamp sets for this card: 'toadally awesome', 'bicycle built for you' and 'mermaid for you' (for the crown) were used for the two little changing scenes. I did some masking and ink blending with distress oxide inks and colored the images with Copic markers. For the pond I created a DIY mask with the 'bayou backrdop' dies. 

I used the same oxide colors on the frame from the 'magic picture changer add-on' set and also on the background. I blended some green distress oxide too to receive a green bayou frame. 

After that I stamped and colored a bunch of other images from 'little fireflies', 'hats off to you', 'critters down under', 'critters in the jungle' and 'screen time'. 

Then I assembled the magic picture changer and adhered it with foam tape onto my background. I added some of the images directly on the picture change and some of them directly on the background to create more dimension.

Last but not least I added some stars with a white gel pen. I really love how the card turned out but it also took me a while that the frame, background and picture changer scenes all fit together nicely.  However, I had a lot fun and enjoyed the process - the possibilties are just endless :)
