Boo - It's your birthday | Mama Elephant

Hi everyone! I loved the look of the wall I created for the latest Halloween-themed card so I decided to make another one with Mama Elephant products.

First I stamped the images from 'bootastic' with Archival jet black ink on watercolor paper. then I cut out some masks to cover them up. I blended antique linen distress ink over the whole card. I made my own DIY stencil using one of the 'kingdom trio' dies. With that mask I added two floors. 

With pumic stone distress ink and the Tim Holtz mini stencil (set 26) the illusion of stone bricks were finished. Last but not least I added some spider webs with 'tangled webs' - then the background was finished.

The images were all colored with Zig clean color real brush markers (without using water).

The sentiment includes two parts: the "boo" is stamped with the 'iconic letters' stamp set and the "it's your birthday" is from the 'dragon wishes' set (here I masked off the rest of the sentiment - because I only needed one phrase).

Before I had adhered the one-layer card to the card base I distressed all four edges for more interest.

Spooky get well wishes | Clearly Besotted

Hello everyone! Since it was released I am a huge fan of the 'good to be bad' stamp set from Clearly Besotted. I love the images in the set and of course I had to compare it with the new 'feeling frightful fillers' set.

For me Clearly Besotted stamps go so well with the Zig clean color real brush markers. I stamped out all the images from the set (also 'feeling frightful') with Archival jet black ink and used a little bit of masking to create a nice sceen. Then I covered everything and used antique linen and pumic stone distress ink for the background. To add more defintion I used the mini stencil set No. 28 from Tim Holtz. I love the look of this!!

To really make a fine background I added the brand new 'tangled webs' from Stampers Anonymous / Tim Holtz with narwhal Lawn Fawn ink. I have to say those webs are amazing! Totally fell in love!

Then I unmasked everything (yeah!) and colored the images with Zig clean color real brush markers. Since I don't send Halloween cards (not so common here in Austria) I wanted to add another sentiment. I used the "hope you feel better" greeting from the feeling frightful set. I think since you have to take mostly disgusting medicine while being sick - this card scene is appropriate :)

Last but not least I scratched the edges of the paper and added some more pumic stone as well as enamel dots.

I am so happy how all the different products go along so perfectly!

Halloween Greetings | My favorite things

Hi everyone! I really looked forward to crafting after a short business trip. I created a halloween card using different my favorite things products.

First I made a background with citrus alcohol ink. I only used this one color and I love how it turned out!

Then I stamped all the images from 'frightfully sweet', 'frightful friends' and 'fab-boo-lous'. After coloring them in with Copics I diecut the images and went on with the scene building.

So for the spooky scene I used the 'birch trees' die to create some trees. With the 'stitched rectangle stax' (with that I also diecut the background) and one of the 'stitched basic edges 2' dies I also made a wonky hill. 

After adhering everything to the green background I went on with the cardbase itself.

I didn't want to  use a white cardbase since the contrast was too intense. With a black cardbase it would be too dark. So I took a white one and blended hickory smoke distress  oxide ink. Then I used the 'marble background' stamp (I love this!!) with black ink and created a not too light - not too dark background.

Last but not least I adhered the scene with green fun foam to the cardbase.

Mr. Dracula | MFT & LF | Lawnscaping Challenge #140

Hi there! Halloween is right around the corner so I decided to make a last card inspired by the color scheme Lawnscaping challenge no. 140.

(In reality it's far more purple than on the photo :-( )

I did a bit of masking for the background because except for the vampire the whole scene has only one layer.

To mask off the ground I diecut one of the 'landscape trio' dies from Mama Elephant and created a diy mask. I did the same process to mask off the moon. For the sky and earth I blended distress inks (earth: ground espresso and black soot; sky: milled lavender, wilted violet, chipped sapphiere and black soot).

The other images I colored in with the Gansai Tambi watercolors. Beside the two colors purple and black I decided to use a blueish grey.

After everything was dry I added some stars with opaque white and adhered the dracula with a small action whobbler to the card to create more interest. 

Last but not least I adhered the whole scene to a silver cardbase (I used silver because I ran out of grey ones and it was the perfect color to create a little bit of contrast but not distract from the actual scene).
