Christmas Card #18 | Mama Elephant

Hello there! I think ages are gone since I made the last card with chibitronics but for this card design I couldn't resist :)

I started with preparing all the pieces I would need for the card. The images from 'Santa's sleigh' were stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink, colored with Copics and diecut. I added also some details with a white gel pen and Nuvo glitter accents in fresh snowfall.

For the background I chose a watercolor background. I used the mijello mission gold watercolor set and mixed different purples and blues. The background was diecut with the largest of the 'basic rectangles'.

I also diecut a white piece of cardstock with the same die and one of the 'landscape trio' dies to create a snow hill. I also diecut the round ornament from 'joy ornaments' from the upper left part of the background. The outline of the ornament and also the inside decoration was stamped with Versamark ink on vellum and heat embossed with golden glitter embossing powder. I adhered the vellum behind the background and created the light-Effect on a separate piece of cardstock.

Then I added lots of foam so that the light isn't constantly on but only if you press the sign. I adhered all the images to the background and chose a white metallic cardbase. Last but not least I added some "snow" with white nuvo drops.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have an awesome Halloween!!!

Christmas Card #17 | My favorite things

Hi everyone! Today's Christmas card features products from My favorite things. I chose a rather untypical color palette for this card and I tell you the reason for it at the end of this blog post :)

I started by blending the distress inks aged mahogany, victorian velvet und ground espresso. With the mini falling stars stencil (set 38) from Tim Holtz and the wonderful glimmer paste moonstone from Nuvo I added some faint stars.

I diecut the largest of the 'Linked Chain Oval Frames' dies from MFT from white cardstock and I used the same die on golden glitter cardstock and the prepared background.

Tip: When working with Nuvo glimmer paste it is absolutely recommended to clean your tools immediately with warm water. Otherwise the paste can be really tricky to get off :) The moonstone paste will turn iridescent when it's dry. If it is still a bit white - it is still wet.

I chose a pale pink cardstock for my card base and covered it with double sided adhesive. Then I could puzzle all the pieces together.

I used a paper strip of the same cardstock to add the sentiment to the card. The greeting is from the older set 'Merry Everything'.

However, the most important piece is still missing. The super cute llamas from the new set 'Happy Llamadays'. I stamped the sweet animals with Memento tuxedo black ink, colored them with Copics and used the coordinating dies.

For adhering the images I used foam tape and last but not least I added the new Nuvo Vintage Drops and this is exactly the reason for my color choice. I love the dusty rose drops so much that I decided that I wanted to make a card in this color family.

Here are two examples of the new Nuvo Vintage drops (they come in 8 colors so far). I really love them because they dry matt (unfortunately it doesn't look like this due to the flash) and the colors are absolutely beautiful. On the picture below you can see the colors earl grey and dusty rose.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Christmas Card #16 | Lawn Fawn

Hi everyone! I love the new topic of the latest Lawnfawnatics challenge 'bling it out'. Since I love making everything sparkly and shimmery lately I wanted to participate again.

I am outside from my comfort zone with this card because I made so many scene cards in the last week. I wanted to try something new. So this card is all about the different layers - with each leayer more interest is added. I could have done even more but didn't want to make it too busy.

First I stamped the images from 'thanks a latte' and 'here we go a-waddling' with Archival jet black ink and colored them in with Mijello mission gold watercolors. I also added some shine with the Gansai Tambi starry colors. After letting the images dry I diecut them and went on with the background. With the 'mini snowflakes' dies I diecut three snowflakes - two from watercolored cardstock and one from a glitter cardstock.

I chose a blue cardbase for my card and added the beautiful 'quilted backdrop' on top of it. Then I diecut a piece of golden sparkle cardstock and also from Lawn Fawn woodgrain cardstock in craft with two of the 'stitched rectangle large' dies. I used the second largest die from 'fancy scalloped circle stackables' to create two of these round accents. I added a sentiment from the 'reveal wheel holiday sentiments' with doe Lawn Fawn dye ink on one of the half circles.

Then I added all the sweet images. Before that I put even more sparkle onto the images. I used Nuvo glitter accents in gold and also the chunky glitter from Lawn Fawn.

Last but not least I added some Nuvo drops, rhinestones and enamel dots to finish up the card.

The short photostory shows the individual steps to achieve this result.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have an awesome weekend!!!
