Happy Halloween | Mama Elephant

Hello everyone! How time flies! Halloween is coming soon so I'll show you some Halloween cards before I start working with the new and old Christmas stamp sets!!

The card today features the cute 'bootastic' set from Mama Elephant. First I die cut a circle from a normal piece of paper and used the negative as a mask to create the moon. I also masked off the ground with some removeable tape. I love creating moons because you only have to apply a lot of water to your watercolor paper and add a little bit of scattered straw and pumic stone distress inks and you'll have a beautiful, realistic looking moon. It's so gorgeous!!

Then I took the circle shape and after letting the moon dry I masked it off. I colored the sky with the distress inks chipped sapphire, seedless preserves and used some black at the top. Then I masked off the sky to color the grass with mowed lawn and peeled paint.

For the little witch I used the Zig clean color real brush markers and fuzzy cut the image. After adhering it to the watercolor paper I added a little shadow underneath the girl and stamped the bat included in the stamp set multipe times. The sentiment is from the 'hats off to you' stamp set from Lawn Fawn which I embossed with white embossing powder. I also added some dots with a white gel pen to the sky and adhered the watercolor piece to a violet card base to finish off my card.

Have a nice day and thanks for stopping by!

Welcome little girl | Mama Elephant

Hello crafty friends! I have another baby card for you. This time I used the 'bear hugs' stamp set from Mama Elephant.

I created a bright background with distress inks. When an image is placed in the centre of a card I prefer going from light in the centre to dark at the edges. I think this way the image remains the eyecatcher even if you use bright colors.
I really wanted to blend the colors seedles preserves and shaded lilac but they did not blend so well together like other color combinations. So I had qutie a bit blending to do but the result is a wonderful color combination! I addded some water droplets and dabbed them  off using a dry baby wipe and stamped the little star included in the stamp set a multiple times.

I colored the image with copic markers and fuzzy cut it. Then I prepared a strip of vellum and stamped my greeting using the 'priceless joy' stamp set from The Alley Way Stamps. I also added this adorable bear paws from the Mama Elephant set. After adhering the vellum to the card I scattered some sequins and used tiny pearls to add more interest.

Thanks for stopping by! Have an awesome weekend and I'll see you soon!

Gute Besserung (Get Well) | Mama Elephant

Hello everyone! Today I share a card for the Mama Elephant september challenge for which I had to create a shaped card. In my opinion shaped cards are not the easiest ones because 1. you need a concept or a specific idea - you can't just go ahead and 2. it often needs more time - especially if you don't have a die for the shape of the card.

So, I wanted to create a get well card and there was one shape that came to my mind immediately: a band-aid :)
At first I cut the shape from an A7 sized card (5.2 x 4.06 inch) and colored it in with dried marigold distress ink. I also added dots with a white uniball signo pen from Mitsubishi Pencil.

For the little pad of the band-aid I cut a piece of white paper and stamped the images from the woodland gift stamp set from Mama Elephant. I then masked off these images and used the same distress ink and uniball pen as before for the background.
This time I decided to use copic markers for the little animals and I also added a little heart from the same stamp set next to the german sentiment.

I used my wink of stella clear glitter brush on the heart and honeypot and coated the heart with glossy accents. Before I adhered the "pad" to the band-aid with foam tape I rounded the corners with a corner chomper from We are memory keepers.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day and I will see you soon!

Hey Ghoul Friend | Lawn Fawn

Hi friends, It's saturday and time for a new card. I was really excited about the new Lawn Fawn stamp set 'booyah' which acutally was designed for halloween but I couldn't spare it for october. In addition, there are so many possible creations that I decided to use it for a celebration card!!

I startet out by stamping the ghosts onto some watercolor paper. Because I didn't want to create a halloween card (yet) I used the 'non-scary' accessories and created also one little party ghost with the hats off to you stamp set from Lawn Fawn. There was a lot of masking needed to create the images but it definitely was worth it :) I also masked off the completed ghosts and used distress inks (+ a lot of water) in fertilized amber, abandoned coral and mustard seed to create a watercolor background. After that I sprinkled some distress ink droplets (in the same colors) over the project. For the sentiment I mixed the booyah stamp set with happy 4th - an older set from Lawn Fawn.

I pulled off the masks and colored in the ghosts with Zig clean color real brush markers and wrapped one of the latest hemcords from Lawnfawn: candy corn around the watercolor paper. I love that bright and happy color combination - not only for halloween.
I adhered the paper with foam tape to a yellow card base and added a black/white washi tape from my stash to the right side of the cardbase. Before finishing the card I used my wink of stella clear glitter brush for the accessories of the ghosts.

I hope you've enjoyed my celebration card and I'll see you on Tuesday for another card.
Thanks for stopping by!

Danke für die schöne Zeit (Thank you for the nice time)

Hello,
It's Tuesday and time for another card creation!! Today I'll show you a thank you card featuring the Tim Holtz stamp set Bird Crazy.

For the background I used a woodgrain stencil from Kesi'art with two brown distress inks on a lilac card base. I stamped the bird from the stamp set on watercolor paper and colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.
Normally I really love fuzzy cutting because I often do not like the white border along the stamped image when using dies but in this case I cut the bird with a small white border to make it stand out a little bit more.

For the sentiment I used a German stamp set from Joycrafts and stamped the phrase "thank you for the nice time" onto vellum. After that I adhered the bird with foam tape to the card base.

To make the card more interesting I used glossy accents for the eyes of the bird, scattered lilac and pink sequins and added pink rhinestones to some of the sequins.

Thank you for stopping by!!
See you next Saturday for another card process.
