Lawnfawnatics Challenge No. 48 | Movie inspiration

Hello everyone! After preparing and having 2 workshops I was back at my crafting table. I am so in love with the current Lawnfawnatics Challenge "inspired by a book, movie or song" - it could be the whole year 'round :)

 I have wanted to create a card with characters from "The Princess and the Frog" for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity.

It was clear to me that I wanted to use the 'magic picture changer' die set on this card and so I prepared two little scenes for the "change" effect. The first one shows Tiana and Naveen as frogs and if you pull the tab the magic happens and Tiana and Naveen are humans again. I used many different stamp sets for this card: 'toadally awesome', 'bicycle built for you' and 'mermaid for you' (for the crown) were used for the two little changing scenes. I did some masking and ink blending with distress oxide inks and colored the images with Copic markers. For the pond I created a DIY mask with the 'bayou backrdop' dies. 

I used the same oxide colors on the frame from the 'magic picture changer add-on' set and also on the background. I blended some green distress oxide too to receive a green bayou frame. 

After that I stamped and colored a bunch of other images from 'little fireflies', 'hats off to you', 'critters down under', 'critters in the jungle' and 'screen time'. 

Then I assembled the magic picture changer and adhered it with foam tape onto my background. I added some of the images directly on the picture change and some of them directly on the background to create more dimension.

Last but not least I added some stars with a white gel pen. I really love how the card turned out but it also took me a while that the frame, background and picture changer scenes all fit together nicely.  However, I had a lot fun and enjoyed the process - the possibilties are just endless :)

Retirement Card | Lawn Fawn

Hello everyone! I think most of you agree that the 'magic picture changer' die from Lawn Fawn is really addictive (at least I can guess from the IG posts). There are endless possibilities and I used it to create a unique retirement card for my mother's colleague. She is now a dress maker and plans to travel a lot when she retired in a few days. So I came up with this design to match her plans perfectly :)

I started with creating two little scenes using the 'sewn with love' and 'ahoy, matey' stamp sets from Lawn Fawn. I also used the little girl from 'screen time' and added some needles to her hands to create the illusion that she is sewing something. 

I colored the images with Copic markers and added distress oxide ink blending to the background (tumbled glass and scattered straw). Then I used the magic picture changer dies to diecut the pieces. For the second part I used or the "slider piece" I also diecut one from ink blended cardstock and doubled the cardstock so that it was easier to slid in and out without warping.

I also stamped lots of other images from the stamp sets with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored them in with Copics too. I would use them for decorating the space around the picture changer.

For the background I blended more distress oxides (abandoned coral, dried marigold, scattered straw) as well as for the frame of the 'magic picture changer add-on' (pine needles, peacock feathers).

I used two layers of foam tape to adhere the interactive piece to the cardbase after assembling the magic picture changer. Then I added the other images and the sentiment from 'rub-a-dub-dub'.
