Hello there! So it took me some time but I finally made my first double slider surprise card ♥ I had this idea to make a jungle book themed card a while ago and the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge "happy little critters" was perfect for it. It was so much fun finding all the different characters in the Lawn Fawn sets!
First I stamped all the sweet images from 'critters in the jungle', 'Ahoy, matey', 'mermaid for you', 'love you tons' and 'critters in the snow' with Memento tuxedo black ink.
To create a jungle book card I needed a Mogli so I went through my stash and chose the set 'bicycle built for you'. I half stamped the boy/man, masking off the arms and feet. I didn't want to have the end of the t-shirt and jeans so I could make it look that he only wears a short.
Then I diecut the image and completed the hands and feet with a Copic friendly pen. I also draw a very simple short (well, I cannot draw, unfortunately).
After coloring it with Copic markers it didn't look soooo bad ;-)
It was time for the 'double slider surprise' dies. I diecut the middle/slider piece and used a stamp packaging to wrap it around. Then I diecut the pocket and insert pieces twice. For the outside I used distress oxide inks. I chose mowed lawn, peeled paint and antique linen.
After assembling the slider mechanism I could decorate the card. I used nearly all the images and was happy how it turned out.
For the sentiment I diecut the banner die from the double slider surprise set and diecut it from craft cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment from critters in the jungle with white embossing powder.
For the cardbase I chose the same craft cardstock as for the banner. I decorated the front with a piece of the beautiful craft woodgrain cardstock from Lawn Fawn.
I decided to add a bit of gathered twigs distress ink to the cardbase and the banner for more interest. Last but not least I adhered the slider mechanism onto the cardbase using two layers of brown fun foam.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
I hope you like the double slider surprise card and I am sure I will be faster the 2nd time ;-)
