Christmas Card #17 | My favorite things

Hi everyone! Today's Christmas card features products from My favorite things. I chose a rather untypical color palette for this card and I tell you the reason for it at the end of this blog post :)

I started by blending the distress inks aged mahogany, victorian velvet und ground espresso. With the mini falling stars stencil (set 38) from Tim Holtz and the wonderful glimmer paste moonstone from Nuvo I added some faint stars.

I diecut the largest of the 'Linked Chain Oval Frames' dies from MFT from white cardstock and I used the same die on golden glitter cardstock and the prepared background.

Tip: When working with Nuvo glimmer paste it is absolutely recommended to clean your tools immediately with warm water. Otherwise the paste can be really tricky to get off :) The moonstone paste will turn iridescent when it's dry. If it is still a bit white - it is still wet.

I chose a pale pink cardstock for my card base and covered it with double sided adhesive. Then I could puzzle all the pieces together.

I used a paper strip of the same cardstock to add the sentiment to the card. The greeting is from the older set 'Merry Everything'.

However, the most important piece is still missing. The super cute llamas from the new set 'Happy Llamadays'. I stamped the sweet animals with Memento tuxedo black ink, colored them with Copics and used the coordinating dies.

For adhering the images I used foam tape and last but not least I added the new Nuvo Vintage Drops and this is exactly the reason for my color choice. I love the dusty rose drops so much that I decided that I wanted to make a card in this color family.

Here are two examples of the new Nuvo Vintage drops (they come in 8 colors so far). I really love them because they dry matt (unfortunately it doesn't look like this due to the flash) and the colors are absolutely beautiful. On the picture below you can see the colors earl grey and dusty rose.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!
Lisa
