Christmas Card No. 7 | MFT & Altenew

Hello everyone! I am back with Christmas card design number 7!!! I don't have many stamps from Altenew but I had to get 'bells and bows' for my Christmas cards. I think it is such a clever set and perfect for backgrounds etc.

So I stamped some bells in blue inks onto a square piece of paper. (moonstone, fish tank and deep sea from Lawn Fawn) and diecut the large circle from the 'columbus circle' set from Mama Elephant.

Then I stamped another bell in grey inks (manatee, hippo and storm cloud from Lawn Fawn) and diecut it. I also made a cute little Yeti from 'beast friends' from My favorite things and colored it in with copics.

After adhering the background piece to a metallic blue square cardbase I used foam tape to glue the Yeti and it's bell onto the card as well. The little sentiment is from the 'merry everything' set from My favorite things.

Ninja Birthday Wishes 2 | Mama Elephant & Altenew

Welcome in 2017 :) !!!
I am finally back and I plan to upload cards more regularly again - we will see how long it works ;-)

So for the first card in 2017 I created this Ninja birthday card using Mama Elephant and Altenew stamps.

I created the background with the 'geometric flowers' stamp set from Altenew. First I stamped the solid image with distress inks before I had added water to the stamp. Then I took the outline image with coordinating Lawn Fawn dye inks. I also used the same distress inks for some ink splattering. 

Then I stamped the cute ninjas from 'tiny ninjas' and diecut them. I adhered them with foam tape to the background and added the sentiment from 'labeled messages'. 

Last but not least I added some dark grey enamel dots and chose a grey cardbase.

Rainbow Wishes | Mama Elephant | Altenew

Hi everyone!! After some rainy days here in Austria I needed something colorful - so I postponed the second Christmas card for 2016 to the weekend and created this fun slider card.

I started by stamping the flower frame using the Altenew stamp set 'beautiful day'. Then I colored in all the images with my Gansai Tambi watercolors in kind of a rainbow color scheme. I also stamped the cute unicorn from Mama Elephant's 'unicorns and rainbows' and used the same colors as for the flowers. I diecut the unicorn and also the silder "rail".

For the little part which you can see under the slider part I again used the same Gansai Tambi colors to create a little rainbow. I stamped the greeting from the Mama Elephant stamp set between the flowers - actually this was a total coincidence that it fits perfectly because when I created the frame I hadn't already known which sentiment I would use - lucky me :)

I put the card together by adhering the top piece of paper with foam tape and placing a small coin under the slider "rail. Then I adhered the unicorn with a foam square to the coin. Last but not least I added some small clear sequins and Wink of Stella glitter to the hear of the unicorn.

Card trio | Altenew

Hello everyone! I made a set of three cards using Altenew stamps and distress inks. Family members and friends often come around and ask if I had a card for them because they want to thank someone or send birthday wishes etc. Because most of the time this happens very spontaneous (e.g. 'I need it tomorrow') I love having some cards on stock because I know that they will be useful soon :) That's the reason why I made a birthday, thank you and 'kindness' card. You can save so much time by making more than one card at once using the same design!!

Because every card has the same design, I only walk you through the orange birthday card.

I wanted to use the beautiful flower and leaf stamps with distress inks in order to create watercolored flowers. So I pressed the first stamp of the flower into the spiced marmalade distress ink pad and then sprizzed it about three times with my mini mister which is always filled with clean water. After that I could stamp the layer onto a distress cardstock. I repeated the same step using the second layer and the distress ink pad abandoned coral after the first layer had already been dried. I did this five times per card using two different color combinations: a dark one and a light one. For the light combination I used scattered straw and dried marigold.

After letting the flowers dry I masked them off and stamped the first layer of the leafs with hickory smoke distress ink (I didn't sprizz it with water this time but used a paint brush to add only a little amount of water to the stamp on the acrylic block). Then I took the outline stamps for the leafs as wells as for the flowers and stamped it with archival jet black ink. It doesn't have to be perfectly layered - it will look pretty anyway!! (This is the huge advantage of this technique - It will turn out fine, no matter how it looks at first :) )

For the last step I used the sentiment from 'Ella and Friends' from Mama Elephant and stamped it right in the centre with archival jet black ink. Then I added some sequins from pretty pink posh to finish up my cards before I adhered them to coordinating standard-sized card bases.
