Happy Christmas | Mama Elephant

Hi there, it's Tuesday and time for another Christmas card!!

I started this card by preparing the images because I hadn't decided upon a background yet. So, I used an ornament stencil on light blue cardstock and peacock feather distress ink with an ink blending tool to create these elegant Christmas tree balls. I couldn't resist using the elfs of the 'Christmas Spirit' stamp set from Mama Elephant again. I chose two of them and colored them in with my Zig clean color real brush markers.

On Flickr I saw a nice card with a pattern paper from BoBunny (Altitude collection). I really loved the color combination, so I decided create the same combination for my background with the distress inks cracked pistacchio and seedless preserves (two of my favorite distress ink colors). Instead of spritzing my watercolor paper with water I used a stencil from Heid Swapp. With a baby wipe I moistened the background underneath the stencil which gave me faint stars and dots.

I put the card together by adhering the elfs and baubles to the background and by using a normal silver twine as strings for the ornaments. Now it looks like the elfs are holding on to the Christmas balls. For the greeting I heat embossed the sentiment from the 'Oh snap' mini stampset from Lawn Fawn (which I often use for a tiny Christmas greeting) with white embossing powder on black cardstock. I created a little banner and adhered it with foam tape to the backbround. For the cardbase I used black cardstock. To finishp up the card I added Wink of Stella glitter to the hats and shirts of the Elfs and scattered some clear and silver sequins.

I hope you like my card I wish you a nice week!
Thank you for stopping by!
